General questions

What is DroitAI?
DroitAI is an AI-powered legal assistant designed to help individuals understand their rights. Unlike a generic chatbot, DroitAI draws on the official sources of French law (Légifrance, the Code du travail and the Code civil — France's labour and civil codes — and case law) to build its answers. The legal articles and court decisions selected for an answer are shown beneath it, so you can check them (on the Free plan, the preview of a document analysis shows only the verified texts it cites, and sometimes none). DroitAI covers employment law, housing law, family law, consumer law, property law and administrative law.
Does DroitAI replace a lawyer?
No. DroitAI is a legal information tool, not a law firm. It helps you understand your rights, identify the applicable legal texts and prepare your next steps. For complex situations (disputes, court proceedings, drafting legal instruments), we recommend that you consult a lawyer or another legal professional. DroitAI can nevertheless help you prepare for your appointment by clarifying the legal issues in your situation.
How does DroitAI's AI legal assistant work?
DroitAI uses advanced artificial intelligence models combined with a legal database and live searches of official sources. When you ask a question, the AI analyses your situation, identifies the areas of law involved, searches for the applicable texts (for French law, on Légifrance and in case law), then writes a clear answer and shows the selected sources beneath it (on the Free plan, the preview of a document analysis shows only the verified texts it cites, and sometimes none). The system also has built-in calculators (severance pay, child support, notary fees, etc.) that the AI can call automatically when your question requires it.
In which countries is DroitAI available?
DroitAI currently covers 4 European jurisdictions: France, Germany, Belgium and Romania. For each country, the AI consults official local legal sources; for Belgium, these are a selection of codes and laws. The interface is available in French, English, German and Romanian. European law (EU regulations and directives) is also covered via EUR-Lex for all four jurisdictions.

Features

Which legal calculators are available?
DroitAI offers 13 free calculators for French law, no account needed: Severance pay, Mutual termination (rupture conventionnelle), Notice period, Overtime pay, Unemployment benefit (ARE), Daily sickness benefits, Work accident benefits, Child support, Notary fees, Rental deposit, Legal aid, Compensatory allowance on divorce (estimate), Wage garnishment. They are all gathered on the Calculators page (droitai.app/calculateurs). The calculators themselves are in French.
Can I generate legal documents with DroitAI?
Yes. DroitAI offers 83 legal document templates for France, Romania, Germany and Belgium. For France, they cover in particular employment law (resignation letter, challenge to a dismissal), housing law (mise en demeure, a formal notice; congé du locataire, the tenant's notice to leave), consumer law (complaint, withdrawal from a purchase), family law (request for child support, pension alimentaire) and administrative law (recours gracieux, asking the administration to reconsider its decision; challenge to a CAF overpayment). Some templates are available on the Free plan; the others require the Essentiel or Pro plan. When you open a template from a conversation, the AI automatically pre-fills the fields based on your situation (this pre-fill counts as one use). You can then download the document as a PDF.
How does document analysis work?
Document analysis lets you upload a legal document (employment contract, lease, general terms and conditions of sale, etc.) as a PDF or text file and get a detailed analysis by the AI. DroitAI identifies problematic clauses, compares them with the applicable legal texts and flags the points that need your attention. This full analysis, with recommendations, is available on the Essentiel plan (10 documents per month) and the Pro plan (100 documents per month). The Free plan allows 1 document per month, analysed as a preview: what the document is, the amounts, the deadlines, the possible directions and what is missing, without recommendations or a model letter.
Are DroitAI's answers reliable?
DroitAI relies on official legal sources: Légifrance (codes, laws, decrees), Judilibre (case law of the Cour de cassation, France's highest court for civil and criminal matters) and the equivalent databases for the other jurisdictions. It also uses Service-Public's Annuaire de l'administration (the French public-services directory) to find the contact details of a mairie (town hall), a préfecture, a tribunal, the CAF or the CPAM. The official texts selected for an answer are shown with it, together with their reference (article number, decision date, etc.) and, when available, a link so you can check them; not every answer shows any. Even so, the AI can make mistakes, in its interpretation as well as in the articles it cites. If in doubt, always check the sources cited.

Pricing

Is DroitAI free?
DroitAI offers a Free plan that includes 3 free uses per month, 1 document per month (with a preview analysis) and access to the legal calculators (French law). For more intensive use, two plans are available: Essentiel at €9.90/month (400 uses/month, 10 documents/month with full analysis, history with no time limit, Real Estate Dashboard) and Pro at €24.90/month (1,000 uses/month, 100 documents/month, document analysis, French case law statistics, Real Estate Dashboard). Security and GDPR

Is my data protected?
Yes. DroitAI is subject to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Your conversations and documents are encrypted in transit (HTTPS). Your data is passed to the providers the service needs in order to run, in particular for hosting, artificial intelligence models, payment and sending emails. We do not sell your data to anyone. The application's server code runs in Frankfurt (Germany); some providers, including AI model providers, are located outside the European Union. In your account settings, under “Data”, you can export your data (account, conversations and the list of your documents) or delete your account at any time. To exercise your GDPR rights (right of access, rectification, erasure and portability), you can also write to us at contact@droitai.app.
Does DroitAI use my conversations to train AI?
No. DroitAI does not use your conversations to train AI models. The models used by DroitAI are supplied by third-party providers (Google Gemini, Mistral AI, Groq and DeepSeek): your questions and, where applicable, your documents are sent to them to produce the answer to your request.
How do I delete my account and my data?
You can delete your account in your account settings, under “Data”, with the “Delete my account” button. Deletion is immediate and irreversible: your account, your conversations and your documents are removed from the app, and any current subscription is cancelled straight away, without waiting for the end of the period already paid. The files you uploaded are erased from storage at the same time. You can also export your data before deleting your account (“Export my data” button).
